Your Problems Are My Concern - A More Environmental Friendly Kuantan!

First of all thank you very much for visiting my Blog and all the valuable comments. I treasure all healthy discussions pointed towards settling our social and society issues. I have seriously looked into all concerns and suggestions brought up. There are many domestic problems, which sometimes can be quite teething. All these problems will have to be handled with care so that it will not lead to unnecessary consequences that may not be in favor of the majority. In my opinion, we cannot settle and solve all problems at one go but prioritize in its’ urgency manner together with the capacity and resources that we have at the time.

My views to some remarks left in my previous Blogs:

Cutting the trees – MPK has the right?

There is no doubt that one of the scopes of MPK is to ensure and upkeep the environment involving planting, pruning and cutting the trees. Very often we realize that trees are left unattended and unmanaged or maintenance is not carry out to up keep the condition. This has caused many unwanted problems in our daily lives as it sometimes form a threat to our living condition. It is true that MPK should do more to expedite actions as well as to improvise their system and resources in order to tackle many other questions in this area.

However, challenges face by us when laying our hands on such problem like the by laws, rules and regulations, fundamental environmental issues and etc, may sometimes be one of the factors and obstacles to a practical and speedy implementation. There are many considerations for the local authorities to deal with before a tree can be chopped off. This is especially when it is concerning land property ownership which the tree is sitting on. It is definitely not wise to take action without understanding the consequences tying to a simple action by not following the necessary procedures, which in the end may cause us to be entangled with more teething problems.

Traffic Condition at Jalan Gambut

There are no boundaries in helping our people, be it directly or indirectly. In fact, I think every leader should have the same mindset. Your problem is definitely our concern.

We seek for your kind understanding with regards to the condition at Jalan Gambut as YB Chang is aware of the situation and has brought up the matter to the relevant authority for further action.

Application to have traffic light at the junction of RRM Semambu

Thank you for raising the request. I share the same concern and have raised the same to JKR. They will look into the viability of such application to have a traffic light at the location as a short-term measure. This is because the application for the road to be upgraded to a “double carriage” way is still pending for approval from the relevant authority.

Debris everywhere - Whose fault is it?

It is true that Kuantan is facing environmental problems related to excessive SAMPAH is being seen everywhere. I agree to TSQ in his comment that all these problems lie in the mentality of the people. In fact, there were many campaigns carried out to combat the problems such as “Gotong- Royong” , “Majlis Mesra Dengan Rakyat” and etc, but it was not as popular as it was first thought to be due to the “care-less” attitude of most people.

I remember that certain debris points were intentionally removed in order to avoid rubbish bins from being misused for industrial and mess dump site. Obviously we are very eager to tackle the problems so that we all could live in a better environment. I welcome suggestions as to what we can do to combat the situation. Please leave your comments should you want to share your views and opinions.

In summary, I thank all of you for sharing and hope to see more constructive suggestions and views in this Blog. This is important as we need more brains to come together in order to make our society a livelier place to stay.

At least now I am learning to smile more often as suggested by Puteri in her comment. I hope this contributes to a livelier and friendlier environment too!
