51st INDEPENDENCE DAY OF MALAYSIA

31st August is the day for you and me, all Malaysian. In fact an independence day is just a symbolic day to celebrate the country’s progress so far. How many of us really understand and support the real meaning behind this celebration?

DO YOU LOVE MALAYSIA?

Malaysia is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multilingual society. The word INDEPENDECE did not come easy as it requires every brain of the country to be heading the same direction at the same speed with the same understanding of what a Malaysian is.

Malaysia has experienced significant economic growth under the leadership of Barisan National ever since its independence. The 51 years of independency of Malaysia saw a shift from an agriculture-based economy to one based on manufacturing and industry in areas such as computers and consumer electronics. It was in this period, too, that the physical landscape of Malaysia has changed with the emergence of numerous mega-projects. The most notable of these projects are the Petronas Twin Towers, KL International Airport, North-South Expressway, the Sepang F1 Circuit, the Multimedia Super Corridor, the Bakun hydroelectric dam and Putrajaya.

Throughout the 51 years of independence journey, Malaysian society places importance on the expansion and development of the social sectors such health care, education, infrastructure and etc. As we can see, more hospitals were built with more medical professionals trained; better education system was introduced with better qualified teachers and more schools, colleges and universities built, poverty level is low with most Malaysians living in a comfort zone and not to mention, an array of government subsidies were given to boost the economy and to help most Malaysians in sustaining their standard of living without much problem.

Isn’t Malaysia lovable?

ARE WE PATRIOTIC IN THE RIGHT WAY?

We, the Malaysians are going to celebrate our 51st independence day in a week. We ought to be a mature and responsible nation in representing the name and image of Malaysia even if there are different preferences in the leadership of the country. As a developing nation, we owe our country a duty to accelerate the speed to be a developed nation. We need to help building and not destroying the harmonious environment of its society and economy. Steering up the political uproar is never a smart way to express disagreements, unhappiness and objections towards a country’s administrative decision or certain leaders.

HOW DO MALAYSIANS DESTROY MALAYSIA?

The Irresponsible Bloggers

It is nevertheless a step forward for the country to allow freedom of speech. However, misusing this freedom by jeopardizing the image of the country and leaders has caused serious problem in Malaysia these days. This is due to we, the Malaysians are not “THERE” yet like the developed nations.

Many Bloggers’ irresponsible attitude did not help to build the country but to destroy. I am disappointed over some blogs which were constructed to harm with no sense of respect for the country and themselves as Malaysians. I urge that all bloggers to know their limits and understand their true identities when they start a highly controversial blog that obstructs the smooth development of the country especially in splitting a nation into many.

Freedom should not be misused especially when we are still on our way to construct! We should be rational when we blog.

Jeopardizing the image of a country’s representation

Giving full vent to our feelings in a violent outburst or protesting with rude and malicious actions will not help to resolve our national problems too. This reflects only the immaturity of its people.

Flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down, burning the national flag, making fun of its national logos and national song are rude actions that have no difference from vandalism. Don’t we have a better way to express our views or we are merely loosing self control over the freedom given by the country? Have we ever asked ourselves?

EXAMPLE OF REAL MALAYSIAN
The new Olympics silver medal achievement in badminton by both Datuk to be Lee Chong Wei and his coach Misbun Sidek has proven the miracle of unity although both are from a totally different background, Malay and Chinese.

For the fact that they are able to share knowledge and skill for the sake of the country unselfishly, they have made us proud in their Olympics badminton results and also have done the country a big favor in promoting the harmony and unity of Malaysian in a multi racial country. Syabas to both of them!

SELAMAT HARI MERDEKA

Every country has its own flaws. Just if everyone is performing his basic duty as a Malaysian maturely, we should not have slowed down in our country’s progress as no time will be wasted on the subject to bring everyone together as a nation. Aren’t we already a nation?

It is always hard to build but easy to destroy. Be a responsible Malaysian!

As a Malaysian, I wish Malaysia a happy 51st birthday and hopefully we are able to achieve our dream to be a developed nation without many obstacles in the very near future with all Malaysians as one.

Selamat Hari Merdeka!

YB 彭, 其实我对我国个方面的前途真的没有很大的信心。我的看法和你是一样的。 一个先进国是从先进的看法与作法开始。而我国人民往往都以个人的立场作为对前景的看法与作法。可悲啊!

MCA and the whole BN is pretty weak now. The opposition seems to be the dominating factor in our country operating system although they are not the majority yet, but its the matter of time that they will supersede BN if we don't change our negative attitude.

I don't know how it is going to be should the opposition takes over the management but one thing I am sure is, our country will not prgress any further for at least the next 10 years.

Selamat merdeka or selamat baru merdeka? Really very concern!

It is people such as you who has helped BN cheated the people for 50 years. Do not ever think that BN and UMNO can fooled people by controlling the media and paint a rosy pictures for all. By the facts in Utusan Melayu which is the mouthpiece of UMNO, we know clearly the agenda of BN/UMNO that is to create a dichotomy within the country. It is people like you who has supported BN/UMNO and help cheated the people to support ultra racist such as Mr Mathathir for more than 30 years. Never would I ever support BN even if I am not an opposition supporter. For BN/UMNO to change, lets make them into opposition party in Malaysia. Only then would there a possibly of progress in Malaysia.
